Invisalign

Invisalign® straightens your teeth, using aligner traysmade of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth.  These aligners will slowly and painlessly ease your teeth into correct alignments.  This is executed using a series of precise adjustments that are planned out by your dentist or orthodontist.  With Invisalign® there are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to keep tightened.  Every two weeks you insert a new set of the aligners until you have finished treatment.  This will result in the smile you are looking for and the confidence boost you want that goes along with it.  The whole process is almost completely unnoticeable to anyone that is not involved in the transformation. No one needs to know about your procedure unless you feel like telling them about it. To sign up for an Invisalign consultation with Dr. Granger.

There are five steps to the Invisalign® process. The first step is consulting with Dr. Granger. You and Dr. Granger will discuss your situation in detail to determine if Invisalign® is right for you.

Next, Dr. Granger will take x-rays, pictures and impressions of your teeth, which Invisalign® will use to create a digital 3-D image of them. From this 3-D image, Dr. Granger will design a precise treatment plan, including the precise adjustments of your teeth.  Dr. Granger should be able to show you a future depiction of how your teeth will move as the treatment progresses.

In the third step, a series of clear aligners are then created specifically for you based on your specific treatment plan. These aligners are made of a smooth, comfortable BPA-free plastic that won't irritate the inside of your mouth like traditional metal braces can often do.  Just wear them during the day, and take them out when you eat or brush and floss your teeth.  While your wearing each set of aligners, your teeth gently and gradually begin to shift into place.

You will start wearing a new set of aligners about every two weeks. This will move you along to the next stage of your treatment. There will also be occasional checkups with your doctor, usually only every six weeks or so to check on your progress. During every stage, you will be able to see how much closer you are to having the smile that you want.

While your case will be different than every other patients, treatment typically takes around a year for adults.  For teenagers, the length of treatment is about the same duration as braces.  For the best results and the quickest outcome, you should wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day for the complete duration of the treatment.
